Five Signs You Might Benefit from Coaching

Most people do not wake up one morning and think, "I need a coach." They arrive at it gradually. Through a growing sense that something needs to change and they cannot quite get there alone.
If you are wondering whether coaching might help, here are five signs that suggest it could.
1. You Feel Stuck and Have Felt That Way for a While
Not a bad day. Not a rough week. A persistent, low-level sense that you are not moving forward. You might be successful by anyone else's standards, but internally, something feels misaligned. You know you want something different. You just cannot seem to get traction.
Coaching helps because it creates the space to step back, understand what is actually going on, and identify the smallest meaningful step forward.
2. You Know What You Want But Cannot Seem to Make It Happen
You have the vision. Maybe you have even made a plan. But something keeps getting in the way. Self-doubt, competing priorities, perfectionism, or a pattern of putting everyone else first.
Coaching helps because it uncovers the patterns and beliefs that are quietly blocking progress. Once they are visible, they lose their power.
3. You Keep Saying Yes to Things That Drain You
Your calendar is full but your energy is empty. You are busy, but none of it feels purposeful. You know you need better boundaries, but you do not know how to set them without feeling guilty.
Coaching helps because it gives you the tools and language to set boundaries with confidence and clarity, and the accountability to maintain them.
4. You Have Lost Confidence in Your Own Judgement
Maybe it was a setback. A redundancy. A difficult feedback conversation. A period of leave that shook your professional identity. Whatever the cause, you no longer trust your own decisions the way you used to.
Coaching helps because it rebuilds confidence from the inside out. Not through affirmations or false reassurance, but through structured reflection, practical action, and evidence of your own capability.
5. You Are Going Through a Transition
Returning to work after parental leave. Leaving one career for another. Navigating life after loss. Stepping into a leadership role for the first time. Any period of significant change can benefit from having a steady, skilled person alongside you.
Coaching helps because transitions involve identity as much as logistics. Having someone who can hold space for both, the practical and the personal, makes the difference between surviving a transition and growing through it.
What to Expect from Your First Session
We start with a free 30-minute discovery call. It is not a sales conversation. It is a genuine, human conversation where we talk about what is going on for you and whether coaching feels right.
There is no commitment after the call. Some people know straight away. Others take a few days to sit with it. Both are fine.
If we decide to work together, here is what the process looks like:
• We agree on your goals and how many sessions would be helpful
• Each session is 60 minutes, delivered online
• Between sessions, I send practical tools and worksheets (not homework, but resources you can use if they feel helpful)
• You can add a DISC behavioural and values assessment if you want deeper insight into your working style, motivations, and blind spots
• At the end, you have a personal development plan capturing what has shifted and what comes next
What Coaching Will Not Do
I want to be honest about this. Coaching will not fix everything overnight. It will not give you the answers (it will help you find them). And it will not work if you are not ready to be challenged.
But if you are ready, even cautiously ready, it can be one of the most valuable investments you make in yourself.
“I can't recommend Clare enough. If you're ready to understand yourself better or want support to genuinely grow, working with her will be one of the best decisions you make.”
